Magenta

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 59 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a knobbly, wavy trunk covered in paper-thin, rough, light gray bark, and inside, the very dense wood is silver.

The branches trail down to the ground and are covered with small amounts of small, pleated leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are found in amber and lilac varieties.

In early spring, it produces several giant, beige blossoms with 9 pointed petals. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like rich perfume.

In early autumn it produces tiny, oblong fruit. The soft amber skin is thick and inedible, and the very soft magenta flesh is spicy and powdery. The silver seeds are large and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
