Amber?

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 13 feet (4.0 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 38 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, angular trunk covered in rough, mahogany-coloured bark, and inside, the very hard wood is yellow.

The small handful of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with small bunches of huge, broad, flat leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are grey with amber tips.

In early spring, it produces hundreds of small, purple blossoms with 3 cylindrical shaped petals. They detach easily and have a faint scent that smells like rainy days.

In late summer it produces , oval fruit. The fuzzy light brown skin is thick and edible when boiled; it is savoury, and the slightly crunchy brown flesh is sweet and syrupy. The yellow seed is very large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.
