Copperwood

This small tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 195 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in thin, knobbly, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the light wood is copper-coloured.

The small bunches of branches are tall, rigid and upright, with hundreds of twigs covered with small amounts of large, emerald needles. The needles themselves are sturdy.

In late summer it produces small, olive, shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.
