Sky Blue Fruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This short fruit tree grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 42 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, wonky trunk covered in paper-thin, waxy, brown-green bark, and inside, the hard wood is dark brown.

The sparse amount of branches are very long and slender and are covered with very large amounts of small, very thick leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are lime at the bottom and sky blue with grey edges at the top.

In early spring, it produces lots of giant, vivid green blossoms with fan-like petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have the faintest scent that smells like a newborn baby.

In early summer it produces small, astroid-shaped fruit. The waxy faded purple skin is thin and inedible, and the crunchy brown flesh is bitter and juicy. The grey seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
