Copperleaf

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This large tree grows up to 72 meters (236.2 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 583 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, slanted trunk covered in knobbly, light brown bark, and inside, the hard wood is copper-coloured.

The abundance of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with sparse amounts of soft, tiny, very narrow and elongated leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are found in red and violet varieties.

In late summer it forms tiny, cream, shelled seeds.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.

It is often home to a particular bird species.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if it falls or if its limbs are knocked off.
