Magmagenta

Tree type: Deciduous (Evergreen - keeps its leaves all year round)

This short tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 634 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a branched, crooked trunk covered in paper-thin, silky, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the dense wood is yellow.

The branches are short stubs and are covered with small bunches of smooth, large, stiff, pointed leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are magenta and cream.

In early spring, it produces many balls of tiny, aquamarine blossoms with spear shaped petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like fish.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, black, shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
