Silvervine

Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This small bine is a quick growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 19 feet (5.8 meters)0.

It takes 10 months for the silver stems to mature, by which point they can have a diameter of 2 cm (0.8 inches) and are thick and twisted.

The needle-like, clammy leaves reach up to 3 inches (8 cm) in length. They are either bold yellow, or grey with black lines, and have jagged edges.

During late spring, the bine produces large amounts of average white flowers, and during the late summer, after flowering, it produces a few large berries.

It can absorb up to 14 times its own weight in water.
