Silverfruit

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 14 feet (4.3 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 63 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, wavy trunk covered in knobbly, silver bark, and inside, the very hard wood is pale brown.

The excessive amount of branches are short and slender and are covered with very large amounts of large, long, narrow leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are found in lime, sky blue and cream varieties.

In early spring, it produces dozens of large, magenta blossoms with asymmetrical petals. They are sturdy and have a powerful scent that smells like cherry.

In late autumn it produces tiny, pleated fruit. The clammy dark grey skin is thick and inedible, and the slightly crunchy grey flesh is savoury and syrupy. The brown seed is large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.
