Emberleaf

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This short leaf succulent grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The thick stem is emerald, and is covered in large amounts of fine, grey, hair-like spines. The tattered-edged, asymmetrical leaves are orange-yellow with ashy orange tips. Sparse amounts of them grow from the base in random directions. The leaves are hardy, but take some effort to detach.

It is steady-growing, taking 12 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are either crimson or lime, with a yellow center grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 30 curved petals. It has a strong scent that smells like coconut.

The leaf succulent's skin is nearly impenetrable, the gold flesh is soft, and the copper sap is thin and causes upset stomachs if consumed.

All of it is said to be part of one single, massive plant.
