Mahogany

This giant shrub grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall and lives for around 80 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several branched, straight stems covered in paper-thin, rough, mahogany-coloured bark, and the wood inside is brown.

The branches are long and thin with dozens of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of miniature, needle-like, leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are hazel with azure tips, tough and crispy.

In early spring it produces many clusters of giant, aquamarine flowers with 7 shield-shaped shaped petals. They are sturdy and have an intensely strong scent that smells like alcohol.
