Bloodvine

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 40 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 64 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, curved trunk covered in knobbly, brown-green bark, and inside, the hard wood is white with black speckles.

The tangled mess of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with large amounts of small, asymmetrical leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are aquamarine and blood red.

In early spring, it produces thousands of large, turquoise blossoms with needle-like petals. They fall easily and have a delicate scent that smells like pine needles.

In late summer it produces small, broad, flat fruit. The smooth cream skin is peel-able and sweet and sour, and the soft hazel flesh is sweet and very juicy. The orange seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.

It is bio-luminescent.
All of it is said to be part of one single, massive plant.
It is almost impossible to grow indoors.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
