Silkvine

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall and lives for around 33 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has dozens of branched, straight stems covered in thick, silky, brown bark, and the wood inside is white.

The branches trail down across the ground with thousands of twigs that and are covered with handfuls of tiny, wispy, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are indigo and blood red, flimsy and rough.

In early summer it produces thick bunches of medium-sized, amber blossoms with fan-like petals. They detach easily and have a delicate scent that smells like rich perfume.

In midwinter asymmetrical fruits ripen. The sticky hazel skin is stretchy and inedible, and the slightly crunchy hazel flesh is spicy and oily. The caramel seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
