Rippled Olive Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This big tree grows up to 89 meters (292.0 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 116 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, ridged, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is dark brown.

The abundance of branches are long and slender and are covered with copious amounts of covered in fine hairs, huge, thick leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are solid olive with cream splotches.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, orange aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.

It makes a distinctive sound when the wind blows through it.
It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
It can flourish even in standing water.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
