Aquaflora

Shrub type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)

This average-sized shrub grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall and lives for around 45 years. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous branched, curved stems covered in delicate, waxy, light brown bark, and the wood inside is pale brown-grey.

The branches trail down to the ground with thousands of twigs that and are covered with handfuls of miniature, long, narrow, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are amber and turquoise, rigid and rough.

In mid-summer it produces many tiny, olive blossoms with sickle shaped petals with a tube-like floral cup. They fall easily and have a mildly strong scent that smells like cheese.

In late winter tiny oval fruits ripen. The smooth sky blue skin is tough and edible when roasted; it is sweet, and the very soft gentle yellow flesh is savoury and oily. The dull yellow seed is very large and sits at the top of the fruit.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
It coexists peacefully with other plants.
