Spiny Splitcactus

This small cactus grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall. It splits partway up the body to form 4 narrow stems. Each stem is gray, and is covered in large amounts of flexible lime spines. The round body is yellow-green, and is covered in brittle florescent orange spines.

It is slow growing, taking 3 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with solid cyan petals decorated with subtle orange lines and a hazel central disk, grow at the top, reappearing after 8 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals in raised layers. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like fermented fruit.

The cactus's skin is extremely thick, the dull red flesh is rubbery, and the grey sap is thin and can kill if consumed.
