Thorned Silverpetal

This short leaf succulent grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall. The sickle shaped stem is green, and is covered in handfuls of fine, vibrant yellow, hair-like spines. The wavy-edged, circular leaves are silver with crimson tips. Handfuls of them grow from the base like rose petals. The leaves are flexible, and take little effort to detach.

It is quick growing, taking 5 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with solid cyan petals decorated with subtle orange lines and a hazel central disk, grow at the top, reappearing once every 3 years. The flower head is made up of 10 petals in raised layers. It has a delicate scent that smells like ashes.

The leaf succulent's skin is very thick, the faded blue flesh is waxy, and the indigo sap is thin.
