Amber Spine Succulent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This short leaf succulent grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall. The needle-like stem is yellow-green, and is covered in brittle yellow spines. The bubbly leaves are amber on the edges and black at the center. Sparse amounts of them grow on narrow, gray-green branches that are tall, rigid and upright. The leaves are resilient, but take little effort to detach.

It is fast growing, taking 3 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with bronze petals on the lower layer and gentle red petals decorated with caramel dots on the inner layer. The central disk is turquoise grow at the top, reappearing after 7 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 50 curved petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like a newborn baby.

The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the grey flesh is slimy, and the green sap is thin and causes severe cramps if consumed.
