Vinebark

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 149 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many thick, wonky stems covered in thick, silky, yellow-brown bark, and the wood inside is yellow-brown.

The branches are short stubs with dozens of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of small, very thin, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are either turquoise or purple, with pink edges, hardy and soft.

In mid-summer it produces thick bunches of small, light brown flowers with asymmetrical petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a strong scent that smells like chocolate.


It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
It is difficult to cut through.
It is often home to a particular bird species.
