Slate Petal
Flower type: Biennial (Grows the first year, flowers the second year, then dies)This small flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its cream stem is very thick, and the giant, slate leaves are 5 pointed with irregular edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.
A single large flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 5 cm (2.0 inches) wide, with solid light grey petals and an olive central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 10 petals. They detach easily.
It has a weak scent that smells like apple, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
