Silk Willow

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This average-sized tree grows up to 34 meters (111.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 434 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, wonky trunk covered in thin, silky, yellow bark, and inside, the flexible wood is pale brown.

The excessive amount of branches are long, thin and wispy and are covered with small amounts of smooth, small, wide leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are either olive or azure, with white dots.

In late summer it forms small, peach aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
