Trailwillow

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This small tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 59 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in thick, ridged, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the hard wood is dark brown.

The numerous branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with large amounts of fuzzy, small, oblong leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are washed-out yellow at the bottom and olive with orange splotches at the top.

In late summer it forms small, hazel seed pods.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
