Spiralpine

This large tree grows up to 85 meters (278.9 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 157 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, wonky trunk covered in ridged, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the very light wood is gray.

The abundance of branches are short, rigid and upright, with thousands of twigs covered with very large amounts of giant, yellow-green needles. The needles themselves are delicate.

In late summer it produces small, hazel seed pods.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
