Silkwood Tree
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This massive tree grows up to 117 meters (383.9 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 147 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a wide, twisting trunk covered in very thick, silky, mahogany-coloured bark, and inside, the very hard wood is pale yellow.
The branches are long and slender and are covered with large amounts of sticky, miniature, long, tapering leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are either azure, or intense blue with aquamarine lines.
In late summer it forms small, silver, shelled seeds.
The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
