Emerald Fluff Moss

This white and beige moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas In rainy mountain ranges, On rotten logs, and In marshes.
It is short, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is extremely light; it struggles more than most during dry spells.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release thousands of spores.
