The branches trail down across the ground that and are covered with handfuls of small, very thin, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in orange and turquoise varieties, delicate and fuzzy.
It produces many balls of large, subtle purple flowers with spiral shaped petals. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like cherry. In early winter it forms tinyhazel berries.
