Copperneedle Tree

This modest-sized tree grows up to 22 meters (72.2 feet) tall and lives for over 3,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 3205 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, wavy trunk covered in hard, cracked, light brown bark, and inside, the dense wood is white with black speckles.

The thin clumps of branches are short stubs, covered with small amounts of giant, copper needles. The needles themselves are light.

In late summer it produces medium-sized, light grey, spiky-shelled seeds.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
