Clinging Ash Vine

Climbing plant type: Vine (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This average-sized vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 44 feet (13.4 meters) and growing as high as 121 feet (36.9 meters).

It takes 16 months for the beige and ashy red stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 3 inches (8 cm) and are smooth and fuzzy.

The thick, leathery leaves reach up to 1.7 feet (51 cm) in length. They are black on the sides and vibrant green at the center, and have serrated edges.

During late spring, the vine produces lots of small brilliant purple flowers.

It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
It is almost impossible to grow from cuttings.
It is very rare outside of a particular area.
