Orange Spiral Moss

This orange moss is commonly found growing in giant clumps On rotten logs.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps and they spread and grow quickly, and is overwhelmingly hardy; it can easily endure being trodden on.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release hundred of spores.
