Silver Moor Moss

This silver or cyan moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In moorlands.
It is short, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is very delicate; it takes a lot of damage when trodden on.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release millions of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
