Fleeting Maple

This short tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 493 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in thick, knobbly, silver bark, and inside, the flexible wood is gray.

The branches trail down to the ground and are covered with small amounts of soft, giant, thin leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid copper or gold, with magenta splotches.

In late summer it forms large, yellow, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
