Violet Spikegrass
Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in its stem)This modest-sized, orange grass grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The circular stalks grow in sparse patches that are resilient and they spread and grow quickly.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, violet spikelet.
During the early summer, it produces very little pollen, and after flowering, it is left with a modest amount of tiny grains.
It can survive a very long time without water.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
