Cyanthorn

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This average-sized caudiciform grows up to 26 feet (7.9 meters) tall. The stiff, pointed stem is light brown or gold, and is covered in brittle green spines. It has a angular, thin, orange trunk atop a narrow block of waxy, exposed roots. The branches are thin and copper and are short, thin and wispy.

The toothed-edged, wide leaves are solid cyan with orange patches. They are sturdy and flexible, but detach easily.

It is fast growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with solid sky blue petals decorated with bronze dots and a sky blue central disk grows at the top, reappearing once every 2 years. The flower head is largely flat with 44 widely spaced narrow petals. It has a weak scent that smells like bonfire smoke.

The caudiciform's skin is extremely thick, the hazel flesh is leathery, and the olive sap is thin.

It grows well in the sun and full shade.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
