Thorned Bloodblue
Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)This short leaf succulent grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall. The wide stem is orange-yellow, and is covered in thick sheets of rigid slate spines. The pointed leaves are blood red on the edges and bright blue at the center. Thick bunches of them grow on narrow, gray-green branches that trail down to the ground. The leaves are sturdy, but take little effort to detach.
It is steady-growing, taking 15 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are either green or purple, with a yellow center, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of 8 petals in raised layers. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like faeces.
The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the light brown flesh is soft, and the yellow sap is thin.
