Cliffhanger Vine

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 41 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, curved trunk covered in very thick, cracked, light brown bark, and inside, the very hard wood is white.

The tangled mess of branches are short stubs and are covered with large amounts of huge, very thin leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are peach and violet.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of large, azure blossoms with stiff, pointed petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a delicate scent that smells like ashes.

In early winter it produces , oval fruit. The rough bright blue skin is thin and inedible, and the slightly crunchy peach flesh is savoury and very dry. The blood red seeds are small and are bunched at the top of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
