Emerald Shield Moss

This gray-green moss is commonly found growing in giant clumps In rainforests, On rotten logs, and In heathlands.
It is average-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is very flimsy.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release hundred of spores.
