Sapphire Pine?

This short fruit tree grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 21 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, wavy trunk covered in fine, knobbly, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is burgundy.

The numerous branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with large amounts of giant, asymmetrical leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either indigo or pink, with dark red edges.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of medium-sized, turquoise blossoms with stiff, pointed petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like bleach.

In late summer it produces , 5 pointed fruit. The soft caramel skin is tough and bitter and salty, and the very soft crimson flesh is sweet and salty and very juicy. The black seeds are tiny and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
