Silverwood Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This short tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 472 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, wonky trunk covered in delicate, wrinkled, silver bark, and inside, the hard wood is yellow-brown.

The small handful of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with large amounts of smooth, miniature, thin leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are magenta and cream.

In early spring, it produces lots of tiny, caramel blossoms with spear shaped petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like rich perfume.

In late summer it forms giant, black, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
It can flourish even in standing water.
