Silverleaf Indigobloom
Shrub type: Deciduous (Sheds its leaves in winter)This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 53 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.
It has several branched, crooked stems covered in very thick, waxy, silver and white bark, and the wood inside is black with white speckles.
The branches trail down to the ground with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with small amounts of tiny, pleated, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are pink and gold, delicate and soft.
In early spring it produces lots of tiny, indigo flowers with pleated petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a soft scent that smells like fruity.
It is suitable for making strong rope
