Spiral Emerald Moss

This gray-green moss is commonly found blanketing tiny areas On rotten logs, and In rainy mountain ranges.
It is big, growing up to 7 inches (18 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they spread and grow quickly, and is very durable.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release millions of spores.
