Emerald Crescent Moss

This green moss is commonly found blanketing giant areas On rotten logs, and In rainforests.
It is big, growing up to 7 inches (18 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is extremely resistant.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release millions of spores.
