2 to 8 tiny flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 23 cm (9.1 inches) wide, with white petals and a yellow center. The flower head is largely flat with 49 widely spaced round-tipped petals. They fall easily.
It has an intensely strong scent that smells like cigarette smoke, and it has an average amount of pollen. It is a self-pollinator.
It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
