Luminaria Garlic Petal
Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in its leaves)This modest-sized flower grows up to 1.8 feet (56 cm) tall. Its green stem is very thick, and the giant, gray-green leaves are black on the underside and are long, narrow with serrated edges. The leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.
3 to 7 small flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 4 cm (1.6 inches) wide, with solid hazel petals and a purple central disk. The flower head is shaped like a dish made up of 17 raised, narrow petals. They detach easily.
It has a mildly strong scent that smells like garlic, and it has copious amounts of pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind.
It is bio-luminescent.
It is overwhelmingly resistant to fire damage.
