Silkwood Bush

Shrub type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 19 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has dozens of flexible, curved stems covered in fine, silky, brown-green speckled bark, and the wood inside is white with black speckles.

The branches are short stubs with thousands of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of large, long, tapering, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are amber and indigo, flimsy and rough.

It produces a handful of large, crimson flowers with 4 pointed petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a soft scent that smells like vomit. In mid-autumn it forms tinygentle red, winged seeds that float and land far away.

It is difficult to cut through.
Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It usually houses a colony of beneficial insects.
