Prickly Ropevine

Climbing plant type: Vine (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This small vine is a very fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 19 feet (5.8 meters)0.

It takes 3 months for the brown stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 2 cm (0.8 inches) and are rough and prickly.

The long, narrow, waxy leaves reach up to 3 inches (8 cm) in length. They are found in washed-out yellow and faded blue varieties, and have jagged edges.

During late spring, the vine produces lots of small copper flowers, and during the early autumn, after flowering, it produces copious amounts of small berries.

It is suitable for use as a construction material
The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
