Blueviolet Spicefruit

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 19 feet (5.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 45 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 49 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, wonky trunk covered in knobbly, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the very hard wood is silver.

The numerous branches are short stubs and are covered with sparse amounts of huge, needle-like leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid sky blue with violet edges.

In early spring, it produces many giant, grey blossoms with many layers of petals. They are sturdy and have a faint scent that smells like warm milk.

In mid-summer it produces , needle-like fruit. The rubbery copper skin is delicate and bitter and sour, and the soft sky blue flesh is spicy and powdery. The white seed is tiny and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
