This peach moss is commonly found growing in giant clumps In rainy mountain ranges.
It is small, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and can overwhelm an area rapidly, and is slightly resistant.
When mature, emerald heart-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release dozens of spores.

Several parts of the flower have medicinal properties.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
