Threadleaf Sweatflower

This average-sized flower grows up to 7 inches (18 cm) tall. Its gray stem is thick, and the large, emerald leaves are cylindrical with smooth edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

Two medium-sized flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 12 cm (4.7 inches) wide, with petals that are either aquamarine or beige, with a yellow center. The flower head is shaped like a bowl made up of several tightly layered, narrow petals. They fall easily.

It has a strong scent that smells like sweat, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by the wind.
