Burgundy V-Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In damp forests, On trees, and In rainy mountain ranges.
It is average-sized, growing up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they are exceptionally hardy, and is extremely rigid.
When mature, emerald V-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release thousands of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
