This light brown and white moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In rainy mountain ranges, In rainforests, and In heathlands.
It is average-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps, and is slightly sturdy.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release thousands of spores.

It coexists peacefully with other plants.
The seeds are toxic to people but not to certain animals.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
