Clinging Aquamarine

Flower type: Biennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.3 feet (38 cm) tall. Its gray-green stems grow in bunches of 5 and are thick with a curved tip, and the miniature, yellow leaves are pleated with wavy edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

2 to 8 medium-sized flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with petals that are aquamarine at the sides and grey at the center. The flower head is largely flat with 34 raised round-tipped petals. They are sturdy.

It has a strong scent that smells like burning wood, and it has lots of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator, but is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.

It is almost impossible to grow from cuttings.
It is suitable for making strong rope
